Got Health
GotFrag?, NY - 7 hours ago is a new wave of outside influences that has gone unnoticed from the public eye such as energy drinks and abused medications only adding to the health concern.
Another disturbing factor is what gamers are doing to get the edge over the competition and surviving the grueling factors professional gaming entails. Most commonly are the beloved energy drinks that every gamer loves to get their hands on when they are so easily accessible. Energy drinks are constantly at gamers since they are distributed freely by most of the company at stores, gaming events, etc. Most gamers without, thinking twice, take the beverage thinking only one thing, “This will keep me awake, focused, on top of my game.” However, what this population of gamers are failing to realize are they are only artificially delaying a process which the body needs daily, and 8-9 hours of, sleep. By repeating this process over and over again, gamers frequently experience dehydration from the heavy amounts sodium in these drinks, irritability from sugar/caffeine substances, and overall taking away from what they were trying to improve, their performance. Another popular but quiet substance making its way through the gaming world is the prescribed drug Adderall. Adderall is a combination of potent stimulants such as amphetamine and dextroamphetamine. Most Adderall is taken orally and is used to pay attention and have an intense focus. Thus, a small but growing population secretly abuses Adderall to allow them to have more focus on whatever task they need to complete in their game.
