bullet1998 US SIDS Rates by State (National Vital Statistics System, National Center for Health Statistics)
bulletThis table lists the total number of births, total SIDS deaths, and the rate of SIDS deaths per 100,000 live births for each state in 1998.

bulletInternational Statistics:
bulletThis table provides information on the U.S. and 35 other countries. For each country, it lists the number of SIDS deaths per year, the SIDS rate per 1000 live births, percentages on the frequency of autopsies, and the years in which the first SIDS groups were formed and risk reduction campaigns were launched. It is important to note that SIDS deaths and other unexpected infant deaths are grouped together as a single category. The international SIDS statistics are available for download in both PDF (Adobe Acrobat) and RTF (Rich Text Format - which will open in almost any word processing program.) Please follow this link for the latest statistics from the SIDS International Web site. (SIDS Global Strategy Task Force)
