As a 1958 graduate from West Virginia University School of Social Work, I have worked in the areas of mental health, school social work, child guidance, family therapy, and maternal and child health. In maternal and child health, I was Program Administrator for perinatal services, Sickle Cell, genetics and SIDS programs, and Special Projects designed to address the issues around infant mortality. In each of the programs, increased emphasis was placed in the programs to identify and address the needs of the hard to reach populations. The perinatal outreach and the perinatal smoking cessation programs were developed and instituted. Since February 1, 1998, I have been retired.
