From Bedtime Story To Tweetsie Railroad
Boone Mountain Times,  USA - Jun 8, 2006 Today the series is shown in 130 countries around the world. Not bad for a tale that started out as one mans bedtime story to his son.
Englishman Wilbert Awdry grew up north of London in an industrial town outside of Birmingham. From his earliest childhood, Wilbert had a love for the trains that were constantly carrying passengers, merchandise and steel to and from his home. In 1943, during World War II, Wilbert’s young son, Christopher Awdry was sick and confined to his bed. To comfort the boy, Wilbert amused him with fanciful stories of trains including one special tank engine that eventually became Thomas.

This bedtime is way too babyish
Times Herald-Record, NY - May 31, 2006 I'm 15 years old, and my parents still set a bedtime for me on school nights. They let Is a bedtime for teens too babyish? I can
On www.sleepfoundation.org, they state, "Sleep experts recommend that adolescents get 8.5 to 9.25 hours of sleep every night as a minimum." So it really depends on what your bedtime is and what time you have to wake up. I do think that you should be able to decide when you want to go to bed since you'll be an adult in three years. So just talk to your parents about it if it means that much to you. But before you do, just think: Do you really want to go to bed late and be tired during classes, which will stop you from getting the most out of school? It may seem cool that all of your other friends can choose when they want to sleep; however, I've had times when I was so busy that I couldn't go to sleep until very late every night for about a week, and this taught me to value sleep. I know that your bedtime may be very frustrating now, but it sounds like your parents really love you, and good parents don't always let their kids do what "everybody else" does.
