Honda to Have Its First US Turbo Model in Acura RDX (Update2)

Honda expects to sell 40,000 RDXs, priced from $32,000 to $38,000, in their first year on the market, said Dan Bonawitz, Honda's U.S. vice president for corporate planning. That would make the model Acura's No. 3 seller in the U.S. and help to offset a decline in sales of the Acura MDX sport-utility vehicle, which have fallen 12 percent this year to 20,741.

Stitt said the "ice house roof" is a simple concept borrowed from late 18th Century history. Before refrigeration and electricity, ice blocks were typically stored in community ice houses constructed to keep the ice from melting. Colder air from the outside enters through soffit vents into the attic and settles. This pushes the warmer inside air up and out of a ridge vent and keeps it from accumulating in the attic. The cross ventilation is aided by a reflected barrier on the roof to repel heat away from the house. The concept combines a vapor barrier and natural convection to pull heat out of the attic. According to the National Solar Heating and Cooling Center an "ice house roof" reduces the summer cooling load by 46 percent.

S� TV has carriage deals in place with Comcast Cable, Time Warner Cable, Cox Communications and DISH Network, among others, reaching about 11 million homes. �We are founded on a very basic principle,� notes Jeff Valdez, the chairman of S� TV. �If you look at the market—and we can argue plus or minus a few points—Spanish-language-dominant is about 25 percent of the marketplace. English-dominant is about 25 percent. Bilingual is about 50 percent. So for 20-plus years, Spanish media has been saying that 75 percent of all Hispanics speak Spanish, which is true, because they�re counting the bilingual group. But also we can count it and say that 75 percent speak English. Also, 60 percent of all Hispanics in the U.S. are born in the U.S., and 40-percent are foreign born. Yet 95 percent of the ad dollars are being spent on that 40 percent foreign born. So you�ve got 60 percent of the market with only 5 percent of the ad revenue going to it. People are really waking up to that. The greatest growth opportunity in media was sitting there, screaming, �Pay attention to me,� and no one was giving it any attention.�
