Man Killed In East Providence Accident Was Local Educator

He taught in the Bristol school system for 18 years, then moved to the East Providence school system, where he was principal of several schools over the next 15 years, according to the Journal.

The company has also waited along the sidelines, like many other media companies, as the Federal Communications Commission decides whether to update rules that restrict ownership of media properties in a single market. LIN's strategy has been to operate two stations in a market, as it does in Providence, in order to save money. The government's inaction has meant that LIN has not been able to pursue that strategy with more acquisitions or trades.

Police in Clarksville say a man walking to his car at an apartment complex was kidnapped and robbed Thursday morning. Now Clarksville police are looking for five men. They say two of them held a man at gunpoint at the Regency Square Apartments this morning. They then forced the man inside where three others tied him up and robbed him. Police also say the men took their victim to an ATM and forced him to withdraw money.
