Eyewitness News Memphis,  USA - Jun 9, 2006 A Rhea County man is charged with TennCare fraud for presenting forged prescriptions to a local pharmacy, twice. Jeffrey Roach of
Jeffrey Roach is charged with two counts of TennCare fraud and two counts of obtaining a controlled substance by fraud. Roach is accused of presenting forged prescriptions in September and October of 2005 for Percocet, a drug for severe pain, and paying for it with his TennCare benefits.

Memphis Woman Convicted: TennCare Fraud
Eyewitness News Memphis,  USA - May 23, 2006 A Memphis woman has been convicted of 31 counts of TennCare fraud, identity theft, prescription drug fraud, forgery and theft of services.
The Shelby County District Attorney says Cheryl Worthey obtained TennCare medical assistance by falsely representing herself or concealing facts that would have made her ineligible for benefits. She was also indicted for trying to obtain prescription drugs by using the DEA control numbers assigned to five different doctors. In addition, she was accused of 18 counts related to presenting pharmacies in Memphis with forged prescriptions for the addictive painkiller Lortab.

TennCare Cuts May Mean Higher Costs After All
WTVF, TN - May 22, 2006 Call it a trickle down effect. Trauma centers are now feeling the pain of TennCare cuts, and that could lead to higher insurance premiums for everyone.
�We put in a budget amendment to draw out of the TennCare reserves as much as $80 million, but I'll be honest about it, we'll be able to compromise down some. That will take some of the money to give to trauma centers to help cover the losses because of TennCare cuts,� Sen. Ron Ramsey, R-Blountville, said.
